What is unique about us?

  • Our Environment
We have an extensive outdoor environment which also includes dedicated areas for Forest School learning. Exploring the outdoors allow children to discover and connect with nature as part of their daily experience.
We are also incredibly fortunate to have our own fully-equipped sensory room, filled with soft-play and sensory experiences to enrich our children's nursery experience.

  • A Head Start to School
Our nursery works closely alongside the Reception classes wherein our flexible structure ensures that nursery children who are ready for more challenge can access learning opportunities similar to their older peers, helping to build confidence and readiness for school. Our Nursery children also enjoy accessing our school facilities, such as our gym and library as well as taking part in school events such as Sports Day!

  • Ofsted
We are proud to be rated good by Ofsted for our Early Years provision. Please see here for a link to our Ofsted report.

  • Our Curriculum
Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which supports children’s development across seven key areas of learning. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that focuses on learning through play to encourage children to explore, imagine and discover in a way that is both meaningful and joyful.
Outdoor learning plays a central role in our setting, with children benefiting from daily access to a large, well-equipped outdoor area, including Forest School sessions that promote independence, problem-solving, and a connection with the natural world.
Early literacy is introduced through the Read Write Inc. phonics programme, helping children develop strong foundations in reading and language.
In mathematics, we are starting our journey to emulate the Mastering Number programme used in Reception by introducing key concepts in a developmentally appropriate way to our nursery children. This approach helps to build strong early number sense and mathematical confidence, giving children a solid foundation and a head start as they transition into Reception.
Developing social and emotional skills are a key focus of our curriculum. We support children in building self-regulation skills and confidence, helping them understand and manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop resilience. This foundation is essential for their well-being and success both in nursery and as they move through their educational journey.
