  • Headteacher's Update: 17/10/25

    This half-term is flying by!

Thank you to all our parents and carers who attended our Parents’ Evening this week πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦. We hope you found the conversations valuable in understanding how your child is progressing and how best to support their learning at home.

Over the past week, Mrs Wood, Mr Sharp and I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting more classrooms and seeing the fantastic learning opportunities our teachers are providing πŸ‘©‍πŸ«πŸ‘¨‍🏫. It’s always a joy to witness the creativity, enthusiasm, and engagement across the school. Some of this week's lesson highlights included:

    • 🦸‍♀️ Reception’s Superhero Dress-Up Day – the children (and staff) looked absolutely brilliant in their costumes!
    • ✍️ Year 1 have been impressing us with their ‘talk for writing’ sessions. Their ability to ‘hold a sentence in their heads’ is remarkable – far better than mine!
    • 🎢 Year 3 have shown a huge improvement in transitioning calmly from lunchtime to learning. I had the pleasure of watching them take part in a mindfulness music tracing activity, which really helped them settle and focus for the afternoon.
    • πŸ”ͺπŸ‹ Year 5 took part in a fantastic cooking workshop with a professional chef! They learned key knife skills: chopping, slicing, and diceing safely. They also explored a variety of flavours to awaken their senses; I heard that the lemon tasting sparked some strong opinions!

As we head into the final week of this half-term, we have a jam-packed schedule of final events πŸ“….
On Monday, we’ll be unveiling our Harvest Donations Rainbow 🌈 – thank you so much in advance for your generous contributions to support our local community centre’s food store. We’re also excited for our Autumn Disco on Thursday evening, especially as our summer survey showed that both parents and children see school discos as a 'right of passage' within our primary school experience - we can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes and dance moves! Finally, on Friday 24th October, children are invited to wear mufti (non-uniform) in exchange for a donation to the PTFA Tombola. Suggested items include:

    • 🧼Toiletries
    • 🍫 Chocolates or sweets
    • 🧸 Small toys or games
    • πŸ› Gift sets or pamper items
    • 🎁 Unused gifts or novelty items

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable half-term break when it arrives πŸ‚.

    Warm regards,
    Mrs Hannah Morgan
