Acting Head of School Report

Well we have reached the end of an amazing term at Oakwood!

So much has been going on, including trips, events, great learning, swimming and of course the Y6 SATS!

The children have been magnificent across the school. I was incredibly proud this week to hear from the adults involved in trips for Years 2,3 and 6. Our children behaved superbly on all the trips and words used to describe their behaviour included 'impeccable', 'outstanding' and 'exemplary'. Well done to everyone who represented our school so brilliantly - and of course to the adults who put so much work into organising and helping with the trips.

We have also seen curriculum events taking place this week. As ever, we were brilliantly supported by our parents and carers, and the children relished the opportunities to share their learning with their loved ones. It has been great to see the range of activities in these events, with some fantastic art and science work being prominent in several of them.

Year 4 had their last swimming session today. Mrs Taylor and Miss Seath have been so impressed with the determination the children have shown and it is wonderful that their confidence in the water has soared.

Today's celebration assembly included our new stars of the term and their names are on this week's bulletin. Dipshika won our attendance raffle (number 176) and the attendance challenge is hotting up moving into the last set of results (for this week!) The two Year 6 classes are currently out in front with Rosa Parks class leading the way by 5 points!

I would like to finish by wishing everyone a wonderful May half term. I hope the sun shines for you all and I look forward to seeing everyone again in term 6.

With my best wishes
